For this project, I selected an article discussing the inequities of health care treatment and vaccination distribution concerning COVID-19 in early 2021. The article lays out the inconsistencies in the classification of 'high risk' and demonstrates how many states did not consider people with certain life threatening diseases as priority for receiving the vaccine, even if COVID could exacerbate their condition. This is why I named the book 'First' because it shows the initial scramble to get the limited number of vaccines and how people fought to get priority and often times failed.
